What the paper measures
Each objective takes its stated share of every paper, so two candidates sit different questions that measure the same thing.
- Overlay design and addressing30% · 18 items per paper
- Failover and resilience25% · 15 items per paper
- Remote user access25% · 15 items per paper
- Egress and application routing20% · 12 items per paper
How the paper is built
- Every paper is drawn from a bank of 300 items — 5 times the size of one sitting — so a retake is not the same paper.
- 42 items test the subject itself and would be answerable by a competent engineer who has never used Zedmos; 18 test the product. That is a count rather than an average: every individual paper carries exactly that split.
- Option order is shuffled per item as well, so two candidates cannot compare “the answer is B”.
- Scoring happens on the server. The answer key never leaves the application, and multiple-response items are marked all or nothing.
The rules of the sitting
- The clock starts when you press the button and runs for 90 minutes. It is kept on the server, so closing the laptop does not pause it.
- Answers are saved as you make them. If the window closes, sign back in and the paper resumes with your answers in place.
- One item is shown at a time; you can move freely, flag items and come back. Unanswered items are marked wrong.
- When the time runs out, whatever is recorded is submitted automatically.
- The sitting is yours alone: no other person, no shared screen, no reference material.
- A fail returns a per-objective breakdown and the reasoning behind the missed items, then a 14-day waiting period.
What a pass gives you
- A credential with its own number, valid for 24 months.
- A public page at that number which anyone — an employer included — can check without an account.
- Withdrawn and expired credentials keep their page and say so, so a broken link cannot be passed off as a technicality.
What this exam is not
- Not a course. The Academy examines; the preparation material is the technical documentation.
- No hands-on lab and no practical exam against a running appliance.
- No online proctoring. The rules are agreed before the clock starts rather than supervised.
- Items are English only — a mistranslated distractor turns a correct answer into a wrong one. The interface is bilingual.
How to prepare
There is no course to buy. The material this exam is written against is the product documentation, and these are the parts of it that matter here.
