About the role
Explain a firewall to the people who buy firewalls. Our audience is service providers and network engineers, who can tell within a paragraph whether the writer understands the product — so this is a role for someone who wants to learn the thing they are describing, not decorate it.
What you would do
- Own the product story in English and German: what each product does, who it is for, and why it is built the way it is.
- Write the material a technical buyer actually reads — comparisons, deployment notes, release announcements, and the answers to the questions sales keeps being asked.
- Run the site and the campaigns around it, and be able to say which of them brought a real enquiry.
- Work directly with engineering, close enough to catch a claim that is not quite true before it is published.
What we are looking for
- You have marketed a technical product to a technical audience, and can show the work.
- You write well in German and in English — well enough that neither reads like a translation of the other.
- You are comfortable saying you do not understand something yet, and then going and understanding it.
- Comfortable with the constraint that we do not publish a claim we cannot support.
Useful, not required
- A background in networking or security, however it was acquired.
- You have worked with a channel — partners, resellers, distributors.
- You can build a page as well as write one.
What we offer
- Direct access to the engineers, and the standing to correct them in public when the product page is wrong.
- A product with something real to say, at the point where it is being introduced to the market.
- The scope to decide how it is positioned rather than executing someone else's brief.
Applying
Send us something you wrote for a technical audience — a page, a post, a launch note — and tell us what you would change about it now. We are more interested in your judgement about your own work than in a portfolio of its best day.
Four steps: about you, a few questions from the hiring manager, your CV, and a review before anything is sent.
